1. Will I be charged Washington sales tax if I lease or buy a new, used, or Chevrolet-certified pre-owned truck, car, or SUV?
No. Customers from Oregon who lease or buy a new, used, or Chevrolet-certified pre-owned Chevrolet Malibu, Silverado 1500, Silverado HD, Chevrolet Blazer, or other truck or SUV will not be charged Washington sales tax. On July 1, 2019, Washington State issued some amendments and sales tax exemptions to its state tax code. However, those changes did not affect the purchase or lease of any new or used Chevrolet vehicle by Oregon residents.
2. What happens if my Chevrolet car or truck needs servicing and parts? Will I be charged Washington sales tax in either of these situations?
Yes. All Speck Chevrolet of Prosser Oregon customers who come to our dealership in Washington for servicing will be charged Washington sales tax for any new replacement parts or servicing for their new, near-new, or Chevrolet-certified pre-owned truck, car, or SUV.
