WHAT IS AN MSRP?
You’ve seen it on the lot. You’ve seen it when shopping online. But do you know what an MSRP is? Today we are answering your burning questions about the infamous MSRP!
What is an MSRP?
The MSRP on a vehicle is the manufacturer’s suggested retail price. This is simply a recommendation for the vehicle’s price and is not set it in stone. An actual sale price can be lower or higher.
Does the MSRP include accessories?
No, the MSRP is the base price for the vehicle’s particular trim level and options. Additional accessories added to the vehicle will not be shown in the MSRP and will usually be represented as an additional mark-up to the MSRP.
Is the MSRP different than the Invoice? Yes, the MSRP is the recommended price. Meanwhile, the invoice price is what the manufacturer charges the dealership for the vehicle. Most dealers are reluctant to show invoice or go below invoice on a sale.
Will I pay over MSRP?
Sometimes. If a vehicle is in high-demand or limited-production, a dealership may mark up the price on that vehicle. This is called an “Additional Dealer Markup”. If inventory levels are low, dealerships may add an Additional Dealer Markup because the vehicle’s market price has now increased.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF BEDLINER?
Bed Mats and Bed Rugs:
Bed mats and bed rugs are the least expensive choice when it comes to your truck bed protection. They can be custom cut to fit your truck and prevent cargo from moving around when driving, and
The main difference between bed mats and bed rugs are the materials these items are made out of. Mats are typically created with hard rubber material, while bed rugs have a more carpet-like texture, but are made from polypropylene. Rugs usually are more customizable as well, and can even be installed throughout the walls of the truck bed.
Drop-In Bedliner:
Drop-In Bedliner is a custom, form-fitted tough sheet of hard rubber or plastic that can be dropped into the truck bed and bolted in. This bedliner has high shock-absorption to withstand whatever cargo you may put in the back of your truck. These normally cover the bed walls, floor and tailgate, but some may only come as a floor covering.
Spray-In Bedliner:
Spray-In Bedliner is essentially a coating for your entire truck bed, usually made with 100% polyurethane or polyurea depending on the company. Spray-in bedliner is sprayed directly onto the truck bed surface after the bed has been sanded down to the bare metal. It provides great grip for your cargo protection.

DRIVING IN SMOKE
The unfortunate part of the Summer season includes extreme heat and dry conditions. With this combination as well as external factors, wildfires are created — causing not only damage, but the potential for a large, traveling plume of smoke.
When you’re driving in smoke, use your air re-circulator to keep the air inside your vehicle cool and fresh. Avoid opening your windows as much as possible. Recirculating the air inside of your cabin prevents your system using outside air to enter your vehicle. It’s important to protect your lungs from the harmful smoke particles. Once the smoke has disappeared, be sure to change your cabin air filter at the end of the season as it can get dirty very quickly with smoke around.
If the air is too smoky, it can cause limited visibility similar to fog. In this case, make sure you’re cautious and slow down! Using your fog lights is also a good choice in these conditions.
If the air is unhealthy around you, stay inside as much as possible and use these tips to prevent any unnecessary contact with the smoky air.

HOW DOES THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM WORK?
The tire pressure monitor system is a convenient system that constantly monitors your tire’s pressure in order to ensure your tires have enough air and are ready to hit the road. This feature presents an extra safety addition, as tires are the only contact your vehicle has with the road.
On many newer vehicle models, the TPMS can be integrated with the driver information display.
Each tire is equipped with a special sensor that lets your vehicle know that a tire is low, and will indicate that with a warning light and information on the equipped driver information display. If the vehicle is equipped, the TPMS can sense the amount of pressure within each tire and display each psi on the display. This helps save time trying to find which tire needs air the most. TPMS sensors also need to be replaced or serviced as they can lose battery over time. The average lifespan of a tire pressure sensor is about 7-8 years, but can last much longer than that.
New models have an easy fill feature added to the tire pressure system. This easy fill feature saves you even more time by providing an alert when your tire is at the ideal psi as you are filling up your tires.

There will never be a good time for a breakdown! The best way to avoid any breakdowns is preventative maintenance. Here is a list of the top 3 reasons why cars break down and how to prevent them:
Flat Tires:
Flat tires can happen when you least expect it! They can be caused from puncture by a sharp object, tire leak, too much wear, heat and more. Make sure you are up-to-speed on fixing a flat or have a spare ready to go.
Prevent – Check your tire pressure on a regular basis! It’s a good idea to get a tire rotation a few times a year, or even every time you get an oil change service. Always inspect your tires and do not drive with low tire pressure for too long.
Faulty/Dead Battery:
A faulty or dead battery can leave you stranded, looking for a jumpstart. Your battery can be affected by extreme temperatures, but they also need replacement over time.
Prevent – Do not leave lights on or devices charging inside of your vehicle. Getting your battery tested every season can prevent any future issues as well!
Overheating:
If your vehicle’s temperature gauge begins to rise past normal levels, it’s time to pullover and get your vehicle to the shop!
Prevent – Ensure your coolant levels are full and that it is clean! Our mechanics can double check hoses and connections in your coolant system for any visible leaks. A coolant flush may also be a good idea.
Our expert technicians here at Speck Chevrolet Buick of Prosser can take care of any issues you may be experiencing with your vehicle, and provide a thorough inspection to see if your vehicle is ready to hit the road.
