What is "MSRP"?
You've seen it on the lot. You've seen it when shopping online. But do you know what an MSRP is? Today we are answering your burning questions about the infamous MSRP! What is an MSRP? The MSRP on a vehicle is the manufacturer's suggested retail price. This is simply a recommendation for the vehicle's price and is not set it in stone. An actual sale price can be lower or higher. Does the MSRP include accessories? No, the MSRP is the base price for the vehicle's particular trim level and options. Additional accessories added to the vehicle will not be shown in the MSRP and will usually be represented as an additional mark-up to the MSRP. Is the MSRP different than the Invoice? Yes, the MSRP is the recommended price. Meanwhile, the invoice price is what the manufacturer charges the dealership for the vehicle. Most dealers are reluctant to show invoice or go below invoice on a sale. Will I pay over MSRP? Sometimes. If a vehicle is in high-demand or limited-production, a dealership may mark up the price on that vehicle. This is called an "Additional Dealer Markup". If inventory levels are low, dealerships may add an Additional Dealer Markup because the vehicle's market price has now increased. Truck Bedliners: Types and Installation
Bed Mats and Bed Rugs: When choosing a bedliner for your truck, bed mats and rugs offer the most affordable options. The key difference lies in their materials: mats use durable rubber, while bed rugs feature polypropylene, giving them a softer, carpet-like texture. Additionally, rugs provide more customization, allowing you to cover not just the bed floor but even the walls of your truck bed. Drop-In Truck Bedliner: A Drop-In Bedliner is a custom, tough sheet of hard rubber or plastic that you bolt to the truck bed. This bedliner has high shock-absorption to withstand whatever cargo you may put in the back of your truck. Spray-In Truck Bedliner: Spray-In Bedliner coats your entire truck bed, typically using 100% polyurethane or polyurea, depending on the manufacturer. Technicians spray the coating directly onto the bare metal surface, creating a durable layer that grips cargo and protects your truck bed. Next Steps If you're considering a bedliner for your truck, contact the certified technicians at Speck Chevrolet of Prosser. Schedule your appointment online or call 509-402-2243. CHEVROLET BOWTIE EMBLEM HISTORY
Chevrolet's Bowtie has always been a symbol of the hard work and dedication behind designing a great line of automobiles. Throughout the years, the same basic shape is seen in most of the long-standing history of Chevrolet vehicles. William C. Durant, Chevrolet co-founder, was the first one to introduce this signature bowtie in 1913. There are many stories as to where he came up with the design. These include the bowtie being an infinity design on a hotel wallpaper in France, a restructured Swiss flag, an idea hatched from a similar advertisement design, and more. With the introduction of many amazing models throughout the years, the logos have adapted and have been refined further into the gold bowtie we know infamously today. 1913: The bowtie was debuted on the Chevrolet H-2 Royal Mail model for 1914 and the H-4 Baby Grand model. 1936: The bowtie was further refined to become a well-known badge on all 1936 Chevrolet Truck models. 1947: This logo appeared on many Chevy models including the Fleetline, Fleetmaster, and Stylemaster models! These models hit assembly lines after 4 years of war in which no civilian cars were produced -- so demand was very high. Learn more about these models here. 1955: The bowtie was given a classy backdrop to be presented on the hoods of the Bel Air, 210, 150, and Nomad models. These models were revolutionary during this time, and remain extremely popular with collectors. The mid-size Chevrolet 210 & 150 were both named after their production model numbers (2100 & 1500) - which was becoming a trend in the car industry back in the 50's. 1969: This interesting purple bowtie showed up on the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro models. 1974: The silver bowtie made its debut on the 1974 Chevrolet Impala. This year of Impala was one of refinement, with extra insulation, disc brake wear sensors, corrosion-resistant coating, and more. 1982: Introduced on the 1982 Blazer, this logo version begins to show the resemblance to today's infamous gold bowtie. The hearty Blazer was introduced in 1969, and eventually was replaced by the Tahoe model in 1995. Chevrolet has since reintroduced and Redesigned the Blazer in 2018 as a 2019 model. 1995: With a warmer gold tinge, this Chevy emblem was regularly used on all newer trucks (1995-2000) at this time. During this period of time, the Silverado went from being just a trim level, to a full model in 1999. 2004: This golden symbol becomes infamous throughout the world. This refined symbol began with the 2004 Malibu model, and became standard on every Chevy model since then. The Malibu has a history of being a performance vehicle, and one point had the SS (Super Sport) version of the model. 2013: Marketed in more than 140 countries, the bowtie has a modern feel that you will see on every newer model today. The question is... will we see another change to the logo in the future? Get in the driver's seat of a Chevrolet, sporting this bowtie emblem everywhere you go! WHAT DOES CHEVROLET'S MULTI-FLEX TAILGATE DO?
The new Multi-Flex tailgate found on the new Chevrolet Silverado models gives you a versatile tailgate that can transform from a step, to a bed extender, to a functional workspace and more with just the push of a few buttons on the tailgate, on the key fob, and even from inside the cabin. Chevy's Multi-Flex tailgate offers six different configuration options: Primary Tailgate Opening: This first one is the classic tailgate option, accessed with a press of the bottom button of the tailgate. Workbench: Flip the top half of the tail down with the press of the very top button on the tailgate. This gives you an easy-access, on-the-go workstation. Added Reach: Pressing both buttons on the tailgate at the same time will not online fold the tailgate down, but fold the middle part of the tailgate down further, providing extra reach when unloading cargo. Durable Step: The task of moving cargo is less straining with this configuration. With both tailgate and middle section folded down, the small inside panel is then opened and folded out -- making a durable step. Bed Extender/Load Stop: The Bed Extender/Load Stop on the Multi-Flex tailgate is accessed simply by folding the tailgate down and opening the small panel used for the step. Load Stop (Closed tailgate): When the tailgate is fully closed, open the top portion and fully extend the step panel to get a convenient load stop on the middle.
